The Testimonies of the Son of God Part 2

Jesus, Who’s This Man?
The Testimonies of the Son of God Part II

V). Jesus Reveals He is God (Phil 2: 6-8).
Jesus in declaring the Father, indirectly declares who He is – “I and the Father are One” so He is God as the Father is (John 10: 30). He made this clearer when answering the question of the inquiring Philip, (John 14: 7-11) The Father is revealed in the Son. If you have seen me you have seen the Father.
Further, the implication of Christ’s statement in Phil 2: 6-8, is a revelation that Christ is God.

VI). The Scripture declared Him
The Scripture disclosed that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1: 1; Rev. 19: 13). It was this Word that was incarnated in a virgin’s womb, and “became flesh and dwelled among us…” (John 1: 14). Also, see point IX.

VII). He is a Creator
Only God can create. Jesus is a creator not a creature. Nothing was made that was not made by Him (John 1: 3; Col. 16, 17). Everything was created through Him and for Him.

VIII). Holy Spirit testifies of Him. God Himself bore witness of His Son.
God by His Holy Spirit bears witness of Him (Matt. 3: 16-17; Mark 1: 9-11; Ps. 2:7). This is the strongest testimony of who Jesus is. In fact, it was not very clear who Jesus was until Holy Spirit identified Jesus. He comes to His own, and His own did not receive Him ( John 1: 11). He was in the world and the world was made by Him and the world did not know Him (John 1: 10)
Even John who was sent to go before Him did not know Him until the Spirit revealed Him to him. John said, “I did not know him, but He who sent me to baptise with water said to me, “Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptises with the Holy Spirit “. And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God” (John 1: 29- 36).

IX). The Word of God Testifies of Him
He is the Word, the Word that had been with the Father from the beginning, from the foundation of the world ( John 1: 1; John 17: 24; Eph. 1: 4; Rev. 13: 8). It was this Word that was incarnated, made flesh, and “dwelled among us”, among humankind ( John 1: 14; Rev. 19: 13; Gal. 4:4; Hebrews 2: 9; 10: 5; )
By searching out the Word, you will search out the Son, who He is. The Word will reveal Himself, and testify of Himself (Luke 24: 27; Isa. 7: 14; 9: 6; John 1: 45; Zech 6: 12-13; Matt. 2: 23; Luke 3: 23)

X). He is a Giver of Life
Only God can do this. Bible says, “In Him was life…..” (John 1: 4)
The eternal life is in the Son, Jesus Christ (1 John 5: 11-14; John 3: 16). The same eternal life is in the Word (John 5: 39, 46). Those who have eternal life are those who can testify of the Son of God, for no one can call Jesus Lord except by the Spirit, which only those who are in Lord have (1 Cor.12:3; Isa. 8:20; Acts 17: 11; Deut 18: 15, 18;
The Word declared before Abraham “ I am” ( John 8: 56-58). Abraham saw the Word in vision. It was a vision, not hearing the word, it was a case of seeing something. The Word actually visited and spoke to Abraham and Abraham saw Him and spoke to Him (Gen. 15: 1-2, 5-6)

XI). He was a Child of the Holy Spirit
He was a child whose conception was of the Holy Spirit not of man. The angel’s description of how Mary will become pregnant in an extraordinary way and the description of the child she would bear signified coming of a special individual (Luke 1: 34-35; Matt 1: 18-23)
